Our Birthplace of the Open Championship Package takes you to the Troon in the West coast of Scotland. Here you will experience the wonderful Marine Hotel overlooking Royal Troon and 3 magnificent rounds of golf. First, you will experience Prestwick Golf club which hosted the very first Open Championship in 1860. Your experience finishes with 36 holes. A warm-up on Troon’s charming Portland Course followed by lunch then 18 Holes on the Historical Royal Troon Links. If you would prefer just 18 holes we can move Portland to the afternoon of your arrival day.
Your package includes 3 nights in Troon’s Majestic and Historic Marine Hotel built-in 1894 which looks onto Royal Troon Golf Course venue of Open Championship in 2016.

Day 2 – Breakfast & Round of Golf at Prestwick Golf Links
Prestwick was designed with an unusual routing, featuring many blind shots and unusual angles to test the unwary golfer. Under the stewardship of Old Tom Morris, these playing characteristics were retained when the course was extended to 18 holes. Though Prestwick no longer plays host to The Open, its record of having hosted the Championship is bettered only by St Andrews. The Portland Course offers terrific views and challenging play for golfers at every skill level. Well-groomed fairways and greens keep Royal Troon Golf Club – The Portland Course difficult yet friendly, and the staff can offer tips and tricks for playing your best round.
Founded in 1878 by a few enthusiasts Troon Golf Club soon outgrew its purely local reputation. The Old Course today presents a stern golfing examination and in particular, the inward half of Royal Troon is widely accepted as the most demanding of any Course on the Championship rota. The Open returned to the Ayrshire town for a ninth time in 2016 when the 145th Championship was played at Royal Troon. Golfers the world over vie to play Royal Troon’s famous courses and we encourage visitors to experience one of the most demanding Championship courses on the circuit.
